Lisa Loiacono Sold Christopher Lloyd’s House Before Marrying Him

Her real estate license expired in 2021 and was never renewed, closing out a career that once ranked her among Santa Barbara’s top agents.

Lisa Loiacono worked as a real estate agent in Santa Barbara for the better part of twenty years before she became known for anything else. That changed in March 2012, when the Los Angeles Times reported that she was handling the sale of a Montecito house owned by the actor Christopher Lloyd.

That short item is the source almost every later account points to for how the couple met, and it says nothing of the kind. The notice runs two short paragraphs. It gives a price of $6.45 million, a total of about 4,600 square feet, and Lloyd’s reason for selling: he was downsizing his real estate holdings and planning to spend more time in New Mexico. Loiacono is named once, as the listing agent.

The photo record doesn’t match that timeline. Getty’s files place Loiacono and Lloyd together at the Academy Awards in March 2006, and again in October 2010, when a caption from that event named her as his date. The two of them keep turning up together at film festivals, premieres and awards shows for years afterward, through the 2025 premiere of Lloyd’s film Nobody 2. People, several other outlets, and Google’s own AI-generated search summaries all still describe the 2012 house listing as the moment they met.

Her real estate career

Loiacono’s California real estate license was issued in April 2004, around the time she started working under the Pitts & Bachmann Realtors name in Santa Barbara. The firm was later absorbed into Sotheby’s International Realty. According to her own professional bio, she ranked among the top three agents in the Montecito office within her first month there, and her sales passed $80 million by 2005.

That bio also lists six years on Girls Inc.’s “100 Committee” and two terms chairing its annual luncheon, both as the youngest woman to hold the role. She studied Italian at UC Santa Barbara before going into real estate. Some of the homes she later sold were photographed for Architectural Digest and Town & Country.

Marrying Christopher Lloyd

Loiacono and Lloyd married on November 23, 2016. She was 46. He was 78. It was his fifth marriage. Three of the previous four lasted a decade or more, to actresses Catherine Boyd and Kay Tornborg, and to screenwriter Jane Walker Wood, whose marriage to Lloyd ended in 2005. The other, to Carol Ann Vanek, lasted three years.

The couple gave one detailed joint interview, to The Guardian in 2021, conducted over Zoom. Lloyd’s hearing aid wasn’t cooperating with the call, so Loiacono relayed the questions for him. Lloyd said a fifth marriage would be his last one. In the same conversation, Loiacono told him, “I hike with your ex-wife every morning.” Lloyd’s response was that it was funny how life turns out.

Her license, and her life now

California’s Department of Real Estate lists Loiacono’s license as expired, with no active broker attached and no history of discipline. It was issued to Lisa Anne Loiacono. The name on file today is Lisa Anne Lloyd.

She still appears occasionally on her husband’s Instagram and at premieres. She also led two rounds of renovations on the couple’s current Montecito home before it went back on the market last year, telling Fox Business, “I absolutely intended to change the entire feel of it.”

Loiacono has a son, Jacob Greenspan, from an earlier relationship. He’s built his own career as a songwriter and is credited as a co-writer on “Roxanne,” the 2019 Arizona Zervas hit. Her own real estate career, by contrast, has been over for about five years.

Lloyd is publishing a memoir, In My Own Time, on October 27, 2026. His publisher describes the book as his first time writing about his own life in detail, and says it will include the loves of his life.
