I started The Daily Story because I was tired of reading the same story five times over, written by five different sites that clearly hadn’t talked to anyone, checked anything, or looked past whatever the last site had already published. Nine years working local papers taught me that almost none of that copying is necessary. Most stories aren’t hard to get right. They’re just slower to get right than to steal, and most places have decided slower isn’t worth it.
Celebrity news is where I spend most of my time, and where this site is strongest: relationships, biographies, career moves, the actual background behind whatever name is trending that week. I still cover everything else a newsroom is supposed to, general news, sport, aviation, technology, whatever’s leading the day, because readers don’t stop caring about the rest of the world just because they clicked through for a celebrity story.
I’m based in England, and I built the team the same way. That matters more than it sounds. A story written for a UK reader and one written for a US reader aren’t the same story, even when the facts are identical, and I’d rather have people on staff who know the difference than run everything through the same voice and hope nobody notices. The site covers UK, US and international news, edited by people who actually know which is which.
I won’t publish a claim I can’t trace back to something real (a quote, a document, an official record). If it’s only “probably true,” it waits. When something does get published wrong, and eventually something will, I’d rather correct it in the open than quietly edit it and pretend it never happened.
I lead the site as its main reporter, with a small team of editors and researchers behind me checking copy before it goes live. You can read more about my background on my author page.
